This is the female. 1/2 redbone 1/2 bloodhound. 80 pounds and in my opinion a dang nice looking tight built hound.

Which prisoner does she have up in that deer stand? Haha.

Kevin that is a fine looking dog and is bigger than the neighbor boys, but looks just like her.

Have had many also bloodhounds and one of the best locators I saw was my chance hound.half bloodhound and half redbone.most bloodhounds will tree not slick tree dogs like a lot of the competition dogs.

JTG, that's a sharp looking hound. Jimmy Lee, what do you hunt with them? I've heard a few guys mention the bloodhounds have tough feet and they are known for their nose. Also heard a few mention they are tight mouthed on track. My red dogs have good feet and aren't babblers so that should all remain. A bit more nose is never bad. I am hoping this cross happens and feel that the pups will work if the time and exposure is given to proving them out. A whole lot is what God gives them but a guy has to put them in the woods. Time will tell.

My hounds are hunted on everything under the sun from Canada to the south west but myself coon mainly but they have no problem running cat, bear, and they also run Fisher we have those dam things all over.i will road hunt my dogs and their feet hold up well.i put my chance hound on the odometer one nite when we stopped to pick him up we had roaded him thirty Mile's.and we still continue to hunt after that.the coldest nose I have seen was on a Wayne Morris blood hound he could take a five day old track I tested several times.

I have a nice male redbone looking dog that has black and tan as well as blood hound in him. He looks like he could be a brother to your female, Kevin. He is a bit smaller though, only 70lbs but built the same as your female(when I saw that picture I did a double take).

Very large feet for his size. He can take a 3 day old track and move it faster than I can walk, so plenty cold nosed for me. He also trees super well and has held a lion over-night solo.

Red came from Canada. The guy I got him from goes by Rattler on here.

What do you guys mean by taking a 5 & 3 day old track. Do these end up with that same track in a tree or are you saying that they can open on it and trail it for a ways?

Yeah from start to finish.some hounds can open on a old track but can't move it.a few years ago I had friend that had a walker that everyone said had a cold nose I hunt with her one cold winter day we cut a track and cast the hounds she was a back tracking fool and she got hung up on a bald spot about the size of a ball court and stayed there for about a hour before we caught her up.cold nose she was not just a back tracker that pottered on track.

My male is 70 pounds and built good with good feet. He has a fairly heavy coat and does well in the cold. Not a bald bellied, short, thin coated dog. When you turn him loose he goes hunting, I have no use for a lazy, close hunting dog. Very tough hound with a ton of heart and brains. Hunts hard. Handles great. Doesn't open unless he's on scent and moving. He's a loud dog. Pretty good track speed and accurate tree dog. When he puts it in park he's there until you get there. He'll grind on a track but once it warms up he gets his head up and runs it. He started early. Treed his first wild coon at just under 6 months old. Not a caged coon, free cast the pup and he went and got treed. Treed his first lion by himself at 11 months old. He runs to catch and when he does catch he bites more than barks. A coon or bobcat on the ground is in trouble. Had some close calls with lions too because he piles right on them. I have him back east now being hunted for the summer and plan to have him collected just because the way he is I always wonder which lion will be his last. He has a bad habit of going in caves and trying to pull the lion out. He was born and raised here and if he wasn't a game producer he wouldn't be here. I've been raising and hunting this line about 20 years now and they work for me. I'll try and get some pics or video on here.

My redbones have a lot of Hoffmiester and T-top behind them. The T-top Rat dog was out of a half brother/sister cross, both dogs being out of Go Man Sam. Hoffmiester's Rusty red was a Go Man Sam son. Rat was bred to Raven and that cross is in in all my dogs. Raven was out of Hoffmiester's Bomber and Morrietta's Bell, both were out of Hoffmiester's Rusty Red.
