think you handled this in a very classy way.
sounds like these kids need a father figure. If you can take them on a hunt without aiming your firearm at them, I think they may learn something. I know I couldn't do it, though.
At leasst these kids were honest enough to own up to their mistake. It is a horrible way to lose a hound and you deserve some kudos for taking that into consideration. I would ask grandpa to take away their firearms for awhile tough, to reinforce the lesson. Sounds like hewould cooperate.
