Re: WA State set to outlaw more hounding

I saw that mentioned when I read the upcoming proposed hunting seasons. They said that they are going to recommend eliminating hound hunting coyotes because "the public sentiment is that canids shouldn't be chaseing canids". This is a bunch of hogwash for sure. This will only appease the animal rights groups. It will eliminate a few more licenses sold thus just a little less income for the dept. too. Why would WDFW even think about eliminating a sport that is enjoyed by so few folks but some of which that's the only sport they do. Our coyote population is most definitely not at risk anywhere you go in this state and in fact always seems to be popping at the seams. If the Game Commission approves this then it proves clearly those that vote for it are MOST DEFINITELY NOT HUNTERS OR HUNTER SUPPORTERS. Since the commission is appointed by the governor we all know ever since Gary Locke we've had one after another game commissioner appointed that is not a hunter and some in fact despise hunting. One name that comes to mind is Bob Tuck. He's not on the commission now but is a leading advocate for Western Watersheds Alliance. They file suits against the WDFW continuously over cattle grazing on dept. land and also just found out they are doing the same on Forest Service lands. A quote from Bob "I hate cows".
Buddy is right. We gotta hammer these commissioners on this and every single sole that can attend the meeting and speak you absolutely must do so. One word of advice is write out your speech, make it short an blunt and respectful but forceful. No cuss words and use as proper english as possible or your credibility will not get them to change their minds. Bill White
