Re: Tracking box question for bear hunters
I'm guessing Paco likes his dogs, likes his dogs, likes his dogs.

Re: Tracking box question for bear hunters
Im going to have to go with the Quick Track 6000, I have used mine for a while know and I love it. Not to mention its very portable compared to the willife boxes. Not to mention when hunting with a friend you only need the one box regardless of the frequency, unless its 151 but theres not alot of people using those any more. As far as the collars bleeding over bad that is a fact, however they dont seem to be any stronger then my Johnsons at a distance.

This has been my experience too. I didn't know if it was a quirk of this particular collar/freqency combination or something more systemic. However, because I have more collars than dogs and because the Quicktrack collar is a frequency my buddy can't track with his Marshall, add that to the bleed over problem, and the Quicktrack collar is my least used collar. Nothing wrong with it, it is just easier to leave it in the truck with the magnet on.

We have a couple that bleed bad, and they don't bleed to anything close in frequency either. ???

Re: Tracking box question for bear hunters
I was hunting with a guy and he had 219 and I run 217 his quicktrack collars bleed over the mine so bad I had to shut all his collars off that were still in the truck. Even walking 50 yds from the truck wasn't helping. I dont no why they do it but the do. Other then that they seem to be good collars. I actually like there tree switches better then the Johnsons, they have a more distinct change over. It seems like the Johnsons are 1 beep a second normal and 3 beets per two seconds when treed. The Quick tracks appear to be i beep per second normal and 2 per second treed. If that makes sense to you guys.
