OK, I'll get the facts straight. Pits were developed to fight. Bred to have no fear and fight until they kill or are killed themselves. I know a lot of people are fans of them and that's fine with me, they do have a place. I don't mind if you own 100 of them as long as they are not running loose around the hood. Just don't deny what they were bred to be inclined to do, bite something. They make good catch dogs not because they are smart or gentle. They don't have that huge jaw for looks.
I did not say they bit more people than some little breed that has been known to nip grandma on the calf. I said when they bite it is MORE LIKELY to be serious. Probably about 99.836856383% more likely, give or take. And I did not say bully breeds, I said PITS. I'm sorry if your offended but heelers will nip your heels, border collies will chase livestock, hounds will run a track, jack russells will catch a mouse, pointers will point and if a pit bites you it's gonna hurt worse than if you were bit by a peekapoo.

i agree with dereke. dont care if ya have em, but keep em on your property. but i was cornered by a pit once in the middle of our neighborhood street. if i moved, he jumped and gained the ground right back. if i seen that dog on someone ever again i would have shot it on site. turned out enough people in the neighborhood complained about the dog, they got it took away. it had cornered three different people including my old man while he was in the garden holdin a shovel. that dog had a screw loose fore sure.

look up dog bite sastistics well any how if you do some research like search for dog attacks now there maybe more info it is a matter of sifting through it allnow is a bull dog attacks more severe yes they are a much stronger dog than a lab but labs do tend too be more aggresive period they growl snap and hair raises up on end if they dont know you well were a pit bull is happy go lucky ya know until you try to hurt them or you made them that way now i use my pits as hog catch dogs and they work great do i have to watch them every minute around my i dont beleive so because they roll on there back and demand to be pettedi will find that web site for you and pm or figure out how to post it on here so every one can see

jsut read some of these stories. from 2006 to present all "canine homocides" are on this link. read how many death are on here, damn near every one seems to be from a pit. read how many children were killd by there parents' pit bull. seems like pits and rotweilers are responsible for the most "canine homocides." this is why ill never own one of these dogs. guess i missed the page on all the lab killings id rather take a bite from a lab 100 times over then torn to shreds by a pit bull.

like i said pits are more dangerous when they bite but few if raised right not beat or anthing like that if they are treated good they will turn out good they need a job i was saying that labs do bite or nip as you call it more than pits but are more devistating i will agree with your statement not saying that i have been around tons of labs but been around of enough to know that they are more bity than most other breeds i will say it again you can teach a dog anything teach it to fight or love i depends on the owner to raise it right as for ankle biters yes those things are just mean i am a firm believer in it is on how you raise and treat the dog most of those bite cases on pit bulls are because of the scum of the dog owner world taught them to do that and they should not even be allowed to owen one that is all i have to say and yes i wont ever trust labs again
