Reminds me of when I was a new 12 year old Boy Scout... a bunch of older scouts took me on a "Snipe Hunt" one night...

If I remember the results were about at the same as your hunt!! ;) ;)

Good to know people are still out there going on snipe hunts!! :D

I guess you never know, my buddy did catch and kill an albino coon two years ago right out there by your place.

Maybe that lion was hot and had been rolling in an elk wallow. ;) Only one way to find out, go catch him. I'm still trying to get me a snipe all these years later. :D :D

A friend of mine works for an animal control comapany and he sent me this picture of a coon they caught. But i guess since the eyes arent red, that its not an albino??

I was dumb enough to fall for the whole "Snipe Hunt" deal when I was a Boy Scout, so who knows, I might still be dumb enough to load up my dogs and go running because someone spotted a black lion.

And if I wasn't dumb enough to fall for it, I'd imagine there would be someone out there who was. ;)

Hang on, BNG is calling... what's that? A green bear? Gotta run boys!! :D :D

Most black lions in the western states turn out to be a big male fisher. The large tail tricks lots of people into seeing a panther or cougar.

Man you must have big fisher in your neck of the woods.

I am not sure how a fisher would be confused with a lion.

I don't have any cool stories but thought some would like to see this picture. The lion was caught by Wade Lemon and was mounted by Phil Soucey. Pretty unusual.

Take care, poser
