In my opinion you need to put them in front of the trash to be able to teach them and also usually if there is no trash there isn't any good game either.

Isn't that the truth Kevin, cause it's hard to find a place that doesn't have some trash in it. I had the hounds out this morning and had a doe mule deer run down the road half a mile in front of me before she decided which way she wanted to go. The five hounds I had along paid no more attention than the man in the Moon, except they probably figured that she was dummer than a post as I did. Those five dogs did hit the chain on three bear tracks though, and were ready to roll.
It takes alot of work to make hounds, to have then go past elk, deer and moose and never say a word then blow the top of the box off when they strike lion or bear--work, time, money, boot leather and patience............
