We ended up putting four bears up trees and ran just about a dozen the first weekend, Our dogs are a lil out of shape but did a good job. We ran a three hundred pounder last night for four hours it was a great puppy trainer. Got Three pups on it and they did a hell of a job. I'll try to get some pics this next weekend.

i didn't want to start a new thread so since we hunt the same state i figured we could all just post our pics and stories under the same one and keep it going. if not let me know and i will start a new one.
here is the first tree of my seasonon on Friday July 3rd. Homer, Clifford, Missy put this one up and i walked Disco in because she is in heat. let the bear down and re-ran it with Missy and Disco and they treed it again about 300 yards later.

Friday we treed a small bear but paid a high price. The dogs had it caught in a culvert on an old logging trail for a while. When they crossed the next road,my Sport dog was not there.I went back to where the culvert was and found him lying dead 50 yards away.He would have been 3 in the fall and was turning into a good bear dog.He will be missed.
Saturday we had a good run and treed a small boar.Had about a five hour run before they put him up.
Today we treed a sow that was in the 150-175 range.A good run and a long walk to the tree.

friday night i baited my baits down by my house and then went back with ace missy and this jack dog. i pulled up to one of my baits and they all stated rigging from the truck but i could see that the bait wasn't hit. i collared them up and sent ace, then missy, then jack and they lined out. i knew they were rigging a bear he just hadn't hit the bait yet. i was in a fairly big chunk of woods so i followed them on the garmin. they headed east and then south. ace was out ahead and could hear him coming to the road. i looked up ahead and there was an old lady walking her dog right by me and i told her to watch the road that there should be a bear crossing soon. sure enough here comes the bear about 5 seconds ahead of ace. i ran up there and caught ace and then the other 2 came as well.
saturday morning i went north and pulled up to a bait. ace was rigging the whole way in to the bait. i was thinking to myself, (ok he rigged first so lets see what happens when we get up to the bait). sure enough, we pull right up to the bait and the truck explodes. bear came out the bait trail and headed north. i sent ace, then missy, then jack. i had my old dog with but no sense burning him out on a fresh track. they take it south and then kind of went to not saying much then a few bay barks then all tree barks. so me and my 3 year old son make our way in to the tree. we get about 20 yards away and can't see the bear up the tree so i was thinking slick tree. oh no, i walk up there and the bear was up about 6 feet trying to smack the dogs hanging from the tree. i had to bring my son back a little and told him to stay by the tree. then i went up a little closer and ran at the tree trying to get him to go up further, oh no he decided to come down and ace grabbed ahold of the bears a$$ and the fight was on. those 3 dogs worked him over pretty good and then he took off. they headed north and me and jaxon hurried back to the truck to get up to the north. we got there just in time to see the bear cross then i caught them up. he was headed for minnesota and we can't run there. i had my camera with and everything but it all happend so fast and i wanted him up in the tree further so no pics on this one.

Joe them are some nice pics and videos looks like you are putting a hurt on the bears. How is Ace doing for a young dog compared to what you have seen in the past? I hope he will make you a dandy bear dog when he gets some age on him. later Andy
