I think its real interesting to look at what everybody uses for bait, I think all of it works great, they will go after just about anything. I use those little white powdered donuts, trapped along the river with two traps, and caught 29 coon in 22 days using 2 traps. No opposums or stunks. In the past I have caught Opposums and armadillos using donuts, not this time around though.

I'm a licensed trapper in California. What I do when you set the trap down is cover it with brush and make sure it's not wobbling because the coon could just knock it right down and still the bait. So it might be good to lean it against something. Then what I get is tin foil, dog food, peanut butter, and marshmellows. Have a trail of dog food starting somewhere and then ending up right by the trap. Then throw the tin foil in the way back and also throw some marshmellows is the back, with penaut butter. They love the things I listed. I have used this tequinqe and it worked every time.
