We use ursus plotts. I like them . Dont matter what breed of dog you use not all of them make the cut.

i dont know if thats considerd desert to some guys, but compared to the west coast that looks pretty dry to me.doesnt seem like bear would live with any less vegitation then that, but im probably wrong about that. good looking pictures. are those your dogs kyle or are they steve morhs dogs?

At the time that picture was taken, 2 dogs in the truck belonged to me, but I can't take any credit for them as Steve M. was the breeder, the rest are his dogs.

As far as the English word "desert" applying to B.C.? The "desert" region if B.C. is not like the Ghobi or the Sahara desert, were you can drive a thousand miles and not see a blade of grass,, not even close. The website that horsus posted from the Brithish Columbia Ministry of Natural Resources does infact use the English term 'desert' to describe some of the terrain located therin. Works for me.

In conclusion,,, Ursus Plotts are like allot of prefrences in life: Ford/Chevy, Mc Donnalds/Burger King, Coke/Pepsi, Miller/Lincoln welders and the list goes on and on. You have some that love them, some that hate them, and everything in between. You have to decide for yourself were you belong in the spectrum.

I posted a few more pics of Steve and/or his dogs just for any that might have an appreciation for pictures of any particular interest. Enjoy and good huntin' to all!

tirvin, so is smiley breeding Ursus dogs? You might talk to the CEO or VP about that. I didn't know that he was on the Ursus Inc. payroll. Things might not always be what you think they are.

As for the treeing statement, I have not said anything to contradict it, you would be hard pressed to find dogs that tree harder. Again there are always exceptions to the rule.

Isn't that an answer about my experiences, you will have a hard time finding dogs that tree better?

How many have you owned? How many have you hunted with? What were they out of?

You sure do comment about the Ursus dogs anytime they are brought up in a discussion, I'm guessing you have firsthand experience with them.

I would settle for good advice.
