Dont really know about others, but ill put 4-6 dogs down.

you said it perfect. i trail with 2-4 depending on the track and turn a couple young one in on a hot track and seldom have anything want to run trash less problems altogether

Dump 'em all. They don't learn anything sitting in the box. Which is four for me as that is what I own.

Dan, I got to agree and disagree with you on this. I totally agree with dogs not learning anything in the box. BUT sometimes if they get hooked up with a couple of rum dums they learn the wrong thing. It's a fine line with young dogs and getting them in the right situations to help them be successfull. Once they start to get it figure out, it's not as big of deal. Those are the situations they will need to work through to become good dogs.
Numerous times I have spotted a clusterfck in the making and held back my young dogs. Just put an old dog or two and let them work it through, then when it clears up slip in those young dogs. Course sometimes I create the clusterfck.

We usually start with 2-3 dogs and dump 2 or 3 young dogs in as the chase gets hotter

About 4 to 8. Dogs. But I like 3 dogs the most especially. With a really good bay dog. That has got a nice hbawl moth.
