The thing I wouldnt like about not usin magnets attached to the collar is what happens if you turn off the collar and are looking for other dogs, then turn the dog out, forgetting to turn the collar back on. Dont laugh for I have done this more than once. At least with a johnson collar there is a chance of it coming out of the rubber in heavy brush.

I've seen folks forget to put the shock collars on thier hounds, forget to turn the shock collars on even though there is a light, forget to take the leashes off etc. etc. etc. So the odds of forgetting to swipe the Marshall collars are about the same as forgetting to take the magnet out of the Wildlife Material collars. Plus I put the collar on so the antenna nut can only tighten, not get loose from constant brushing on trees, shrubs, etc an extra long tape cord on the magnet and always put it so it sticks out the front when the magnet is in place and on the hound so it's a very obvious reminder the magnet is still there when the hound is coming out of the box to you. Just toss the magnet onto the metal dog box door and it's there when you return your hound to your box. Paul Conway.

Yeah I am surprised that the company's still have any magnets left. I thought I bought them all out.
I gave my old collars to my brother and told him he can deal with them.

I bought a 9 dollar nylon safty light strap that I put on my wildlife collar when I run the hounds at night. It velcos tight to the collar and stays secure. It fiber optic and lights up about a 5 inch yellow cover on the strap. Very noticable and has been very durable and cost effective. Cripes, now I know I sould like Dllhound's old Man

Those lighted Marshall collars give me about 5 or 6 nights (about 40 or 50 hours) use with the light activated using regular duracells. Have not used the lithium with the lights on yet though they do last longer than regular batteries so far this winter. Best feature is that if left on (lost dog) the collar 'sences' a low power/voltage and shuts the lights off but leaves the telemetry on (they still last 5 days or more even with a low battery which the collar alerts you of with a triple beep every tenth beep). Very user freindly.
