Thanks idahoutlaw for your reply.

You are not confusing at all and we appricate your input. Do you know of any devise we could apply to stop the damage caused be high radio output used close to our Garmin's'

I have heard some people say there is a easy fix. but I dont know a whole lot about board design or the front end of the antenna.

I will continue to try to improve and protect my garmin but i think the best fix is going to be out in about end of July begining of August when Marshall comes out with a GPS tracking System actually made for Doghunters.

There is no filter you can get to protect against it other than common sense. it is not like a TVI filter for cb's where there are 2 seperate bands. That is am, vs vhf.

It can be done. But someone with good RF (Radio Frequency) experience would need to build it. I don't have enough RF experience to do it right.

Garmin can build the Input buffers stronger. Put Diodes on the inputs just like ESD diodes on CPU's etc. etc. I wouldn't say it can't be done... One Problem is that bigger components takes more power and Eats at the battery life. So it's a catch 22...

It can be done if Garmin made it a priority..

I keep looking for someone with RF Input experience when I find that person, I may try and build a box and give it a go.
