"A good houndsman can't hurt a poor hound but a poor houndsman can ruin a good hound" Spoken by a 92 year man, still running dogs, that has forgotten more about hounds (and probably everything else) than I'll ever know.

ROFLMAO!! That is the most quoted sentence I think I have EVER heard while hunting.. Damn us for buying new trucks and then driving them down the brushiest road that the dogs could find..

that reminds me of My friends qoute.

"If a houndsman has a nice truck, he probably doesn't catch @#$#!"

We always have a new truck every couple of years  Our trade in value is never very high  We manage to keep the dents out and fender flairs hide the fenders that get chewed up by chains and you always trade them in a night... So you can't see all the scratches LOL

I should be catching WAY more game then. ;-) In all reality I think a guy could keep a truck in pretty good shape here in Utah but in Washington I would agree.

Never say never about a dog...after all, how much can you trust something that eats $h1t and, hummm, something about his mother....

Think that everytime I hear someone really bragging on their dogs!

I heard that one a little differant kickemall.

A poor hound won"t hurt a good houndsman , but a poor houndsman will sure hurt a good hound.

Don't know who said it but went something like this,

"Treat your hound like your best girl, take them out often, feed them well, and love them, no matter how far they run they will always return to you"
sorta corny but I liked it.
Other favourite I heard spoken to me by "LCK" was "Dogs is Dogs"
I swiped it and use often on my wife when she gets mad at them.

I was hunting with a friend one cold New Year's Eve. Whatever we were running treed several times and would jump tree before we could get there. We were sitting on the side of a steep hill trying to catch our breath and he says, "Our wives think we are really having fun."
