I read a lot of the posts on here, even though Ferjr may be expressing more experience than he actually has, it appears that he is more than civil with everyone. The fact is I try to be civil with people and treat them with a little respect. I wish Larry would do the same. I can pretty much guarantee he wouldn't speak to people like that in real life. At least not more than once. :D I guess this internet thing gives him the ability to feel tough every now and then. If you guys don't like the newbie expert, you could always skip over his posts.

Ferjr is just fortunate he is enjoying his hunting and enjoying his dogs. I'm also new to the sport, and I on the other hand spend more time staring (glaring?) half annoyed/half amused at a pup as he goes through puppyhood and keeping me on my toes.

I wouldn't trade positions but sometimes it be nice to be running Ferjr's dogs one night and know what hound hunting is supposed to feel like. :beer

Great post bigdog23, but honestly why are people getting advice from this website instead of getting out and learning it first hand i believe this website can cause more headaches for your hunting than help!

I just stumbled across this post, read it front to back 2 times to make sure i was reading everything correctly and I am pretty sure I am on track here. ferjr posts some pictures of his puppies playing with a bear foot and larry gets jealous because he has a pen full of plotts. larry then runs his mouth to ferjr about it, other cowards jump in to flog him while he's down, and very few come to his defense. to sum it all up people are jealous of ferjr for actually doing what they wish they could do but until they gets off their lazy ass and take them pot lickers to the woods they will never have a decent dog. I am only 27 years old so I cant honestly say I have enough time on the planet to be a seasoned/experienced houndsman but what I can say is I have been around long enough to spot a jealous POS.

I have been fortunate enough to hunt some really good dogs with some really good houndsmen and more importantly have hunted some really bad dogs with some really bad houndsmen. I hate to see a guy getting bashed because he learns faster then some. maybe ferjr is the end all be all to hound hunting and maybe he isnt but that isnt for any of us to decide. I have hunted with guys that have been doing this for 30+ years and still only tree 20 bears a year and I have hunted with guys that have been doing this for 2 years that tree 15+ bears a week. If you dont like someones advice then simply dont take it but you dont have to run a guy into the ground for what he knows or thinks he knows.

I have hunted from the east coast to the west coast from canada to mexico and I know a few things will always be true, there is always a better hound then the one your feeding, you have 2 ears and one mouth so you can listen twice as much as you talk, and if you talk to me in person the way some of you have talked to ferjr ill knock your (beep) teeth out!!
