I know first hand, what you are talking about, was harassed by the crooked California officer Brian Boyd Who had no reason to harasse me what so ever, so he made up enough to give me a ticket and take my gun, which he tired to steal later after a judge said he had to return it.
Later a California judge throw out all of the made up charges and told the officers to return everything.

yes, liar Brian Boyd crooked California cop

Hey boardog, in California possession of more than one gall, regardless of whether they were taken legally is pro forma evidence that can and will be used to prosecute you for bear parts trafficking. And remember the hunter that rolled on his buddy with the elk rack and who was killing hogs with swords, well one day he was walking down the street and got jumped by "unknown suspects" who kneecapped him with a 2x4. Before that somebody set his truck on fire in front of his residence. Now the National Geographic channel has pulled reruns of the episode. You can email Russell Howard, Senior Vice President of Communications for NatGeo Channel at RussellHoward@natgeochannel.com or call him at (212)912-6720 or their spokeswoman Dara Klatt. DaraKlatt@natgeochannel.com (202)912-6720 Here's the whole story. I can't wait for season two. April 1 is the first annual "Right to Hunt at Night with Light" in California, so pull out your 9volt and lets kill some coyotes. A couple hundred hunters out all night legally hunting coyotes across the whole state will make a pretty sharp point to fish and game about where California hunters stand. -Pete

BEAR HUNTER wrote:Watch the episode again. I dont ever remember Warden Boyd saying 90% of houndhunters are innocent. It was said by a different warden in a different episode. As far as the gall bladder I know those boys. They took someones friend out to kill a bear. Only one knew the guy and everyone thought he had filled out his tag. Yes they should have said they had the gall but if you say they were selling it you are a LIAR and an idiot no different than boyd. The one guy does use it on his knees. So unless you know the facts other than what you saw on tv I suggest you keep your mouth shut. It is not illegal to take the gall and do what ever you want to it except sell it. I know that after that episode I will take every gall I get and give it to anyone who wants it. Untill F&G outlaws it it is my property and I will do as I please with it within the boundries of the law. Enough Said.

well then why in the hell did they all stand around lookin like they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar when boyd popped out of the bushes and started askin questions??? why didnt that fella speak up an say, "hey, the gall bladder is mine, i use it for me knee's"!? instead they all stood around like the didnt speak english! if i was a cop, of any kind, i think they were up to somethin too actin like they did..and if i'm not mistaken the man was a non bearhunter, so if you take the guy to shoot a bear wouldnt you feel a little bit responsible for makin sure the tag was filled out correctly?

now i'm well aware they were within their legal rights to have it in their possesion, but i mean dosent it make sense you would declare who you were, what you were doing and what you had, instead of standin around lookin a each other until you got interogated?
especially with something like a gall ladder in your pack, which do sell for quite a bit of money
thats how it goes with cops, you act suspicious and you get treated that way..werent you a cop somewhere once before bearhunter, i thinki read that in one of your posts, so you should know how goes.

Yup I was a cop once. Recieved awards from the Mayor, the Chief of police, been nominated as officer of the year twice, Recieved the award once, and had over two hundred commendations before I was forced out. I've arrested murders, rapist, child molesters, drug dealers, and every other crime you can think of. But I always treated them with respect, never talked down to them, and many times had the bad guy and their family thank me for how I treated them. The only time I ever lost a case was when the victim recanted or a good lawyer found a loophole which didnt happen very often. That was because I always had evidence, most of the time I was familiar with the players on my beat, I knew who the bad guys were and who the people tagging along were. Again I agree they should of said something and I chewed them out about it. But the warden or you still cant go around accusing them of a crime without more than suspicion. Thats a common idea that has gone back as far as Biblical law, Muslim law, and even English Common law.

I dont think it matters where you go in North America, most game wardens are power tripping arse holes who love nothing more then having their name in the paper for making "big arrests" I live in Ontario and our local game warden would rather write you a ticket then look at ya and he will setup traps just to catch ya or lie and make assumptions just to get his bust. Thank god hes retiring...

i for one, would ask em what the camera's were for, instead of standin around lookin guilty!!!!

thats all i'm sayin, i'm not commending boyd for his actions, or accusing anyone of any crime, i dont see wh you people cant seem to get that into your heads?

bearhunter,
so now you were a cop like i thought..so if you were drivin down a street and there were a group of guys and as soon as you rolled up they all started walkin away lookin suspicious..i bet you'd turn around and ask em whats up, if they stood there not talkin and lookin like they might have been up to something, you'd start askin questions would you not!? you cant blame boyd, or any of them for acting like a cop, thats their job!

i am in no way sticking up for any of the wardens or anyone for that matter. i just dont see how after this show aired, all of a sudden there was a big fuss about how horrible california wardens are, when prior to the show i dont remember readin a negative thing about a california warden.

Azbeagle. Yes you are correct. If someone was walking away it would raise my suspicion and it happened quite frequently. I think I understand you a little better now. My point is you cant accuse someone of something without proof of a crime. Just acting suspicious is not enough to go on TV and tell everyone that someone is a poacher. I told all of them the same exact thing. But you have to understand. Most of those guys have been stopped and checked out by Boyd many times. Always with the same result. No crime committed. They have been stopped just driving down the road in town with a dog box by Warden Duane Little. They are just sick of getting harrassed. As far as CDFG. Check out Post subject: Whats your experience with game wardens in your area?Posted: Tue Apr 20, 2010 10:11 pm on here. Thats just one that comes to mind. Ca Fish and Game has been a sore subject with alot of folks for awhile.

Pete I might not be reading this right but it's always legal to hunt at night with any light 9 volt or smaller? And as long as your hunting outside of the light control area you can use any light you want, you can even use a 3 million spot light. So whats the deal with this night? Other then the fact its the day after Coon hunting closes in our state you can be out training your dogs but can not have a gun.

it seems like alot of people have forgotten that in this country YOU ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY , and thats exactly the way we expect law inforcment officers to treat us. however this seldom is the case between wardens and houndsmen

livetohunt where dose it say you cant carry a gun when training your dogs ?
is there an actual law or is that one of fish and games "rules" (which are not law)?

im pretty shure you can carry a gun anywhere you want when your hunting since pig season is open year round and state wide :D
