How old are you?
How many hounds do you have and what do they look like?
I love it she asked what the dogs looked like! She could give a damn if you are good lookin or not.

I hunt by myself 99% of the time with usually 6 or 7 dogs. Sometimes I have to walk quite a distance. I usually don't use leashes and most of the time the dogs will follow me away from a tree if I call them, I can do that on a bayup too however the bayup needs to be going for at least 4 hours and I have to be right there with the dogs and the bear before I can call them off, I can never call them off from a road I think the dogs want him to be there to see the bear and praise them.
To go in on a bayed bear by yourself can be dangerous if nobody knows where you are at. I am a lot more careful after a few close calls. When I go in I always have my gun out of the holster and make sure I come in behind the dogs.

Thats the way I hunt, and I rather keep it that way too.

I know a guy running 6 dogs who runs alone all the time, and he catches lots of bears.

(Mental Note Taken) Best thing is
YOU wouldn't have to move far

Honestly WTF were you guys in 2007 ...say Oct?.. Getting my Husband to take mine out while Im working (which is at NIGHT) is almost as hard as getting a shoulder rub for 30 seconds...Granted they are mostly MY (when it comes to listening) dogs with an exception of an Old Hag whos been a "Mans Dog" all her life and a ungrateful Beagle.

I think being with a hound-dogger is harder than someone who isnt.... It's like both being sports fanatics, and routing for different teams... Ya butt heads a LOT. Everyone has there own style. If your both hard headed hound doggers, its tough! Just imagine having to live with one of your huntin' buddies.

While we can't/don't bear hunt here in Oregon.... I do hunt by myself most of the time.. I just generally tell someone the area I'm in and leave a note somewhere with which tracking collar will be in MY backpack

I can usually wrangle someone into going with me if I need to.. My brother or cousin are usually willing to go.. I don't tend to hunt much with other hounddoggers.. There are about two people in the area that I will hunt with.. And one I think I might strangle if I hunted with him on a regular basis LOL I kinda got my own way of doing thing and me and the dogs are used to it

You know how great it is to walk into your dogs treed? It's extra great when it's just you and the dogs..
