there is a lot of differance in a toy and 4dr long bed dog. 40000 is fantastic! sipped is always a great idea on mudder types.

I really like the style for the STT. I have a lady that comes in the shop and her and her family are the only people I know that actually NEEDs mudd tires!! She drives a long bed four door 2500 cummis and thats her school bus mail truck grociery getter. She had STTs and they did great in the nasty of nasty but wore hard in 1 year. Thats a big dodge compared to a Tacoma

i would stay away from sipped tires if you were driving on the highway a lot. They will wear a lot faster. They do work great on snow and ice though.

i have worked at les schwab tire everyday of my life since i left high school and have ran everything there is. i like the the dick c pec mountain cat. better traction then the toyo, but has the casing that is bullet proof. milage with a traction tire is about all the same really depends on each individual application. i would say the goodyear m/t would be second.

Well i've been going back and forth on tire size and brand for a couple months now and finally ordered a set of the cooper STT i didnt go super skinny 32x11.50x15 im thinkin with the lighter weight of the Tacoma I can air down a little and float up on the snow.

I hunt for a living every kind of conditions and the best I have found are pro comp m/ts. I also ran toyo m/ts a good tire but they are over priced and wear out fast. just my two cents

Don't be afraid to sipe your STT's They last longer especially on the highway. It cause them to run a few degrees cooler. Just make sure you sipe the center n not all the way across. If it is all the way across you will lose small pieces if you have rocky country to travel. It's not noticeable until after you put a lot of miles. My 40,000 set is on my stock rims as backups. Still have some good tread.

Hey Catcrazed. This past bear season I ran those STT's at 20 lbs. Made for a nice ride. You are right you can really air them down for snow. They call for 65 lbs pressure if you read the side of the tire. That's way to much. With our Toy's, they don't weigh as much as the big trucks. I've never had more than 40 lbs pressure n that was for running on the highway. 25 is about right for a around driving.

hankook mt03's are the best flat out get you there tire i've ever run, hated the coopers, most wheel hop i've ever had was with the coopers, hankooks will run away and hide from the coopers in the deep snow. Stud the MT03's and chains are usually not needed, even when they normally would be.

I have done a ton of research on tires lately and have come to buy some Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. These tires are Very good in the mud and from what I have heard from others that have them, they are even better on snow and ice. The hum a little going down the road but not as mad as most true AT tires. I strongly recommend them.

If you like the Cooper STT's you've gotta try the Cooper S/T MAXX. These are the most durable tire on the market. They also supply ample traction on and off road, mud or snow.
