They aren't reading this post for the names, they are following it for the drama.

I find this thread very amusing. Hey guys let's post up some hunters so others can thrash the hell out of them. Jeez sign me up. The only ones exempt are the ones who aren't well known or the known legends with 50 years of catching under their belt. You aren't going to find many guys who rail on Joe Montana for being over-rated. :D

To top it off, someone posts a guy new to the deal who seems to be doing a pretty good job. He was smart (unlike 99% of us) and went out and got a few game catchers to start with instead of banging his head against the wall for 10 years. Used those to get rolling and then filled in some younger stuff to keep going. Pretty damn smart plan. A helluva lot smarter than getting a couple woodshed pups and making a go of it. Besides we all know it's not a done deal if a guy buys a few lock down dogs, you still got to put them in the right situations to make things happen. It won't stay that way unless you got something else coming along or you've got a real deep pocket book. Hell you could put me in the cockpit of an F-16 and that SOB ain't getting off the runway. I might look cool in the bomber jacket but that is about all that's gonna happen.

There are alot of guys like Van Johnson and Kim Payne that go down to Arizona and New Mexico and hunt lions and Bobs and most guys that live there would never know they are there but they catch and catch a bunch. So I don't think you will find out alot of the guys that are doing it and getting it done under the radar, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I know Van hunts snow, I also know that anyone of those guys listed will hunt snow if they have it. Van also hunts Arizona in the dirt too. Kim Hunts Arizona alot in the dirt. Kim lives in Utah and yes he hunts the snow too. I thought the question was ..who hunts NM and Arizona in the dirt and gets it done. My Answer was Van and Kim do it too, as I am sure there is alot of others doing it.
For me anyway, it is much more impressive for a man that can get it done anywhere in the country in any condition, than a man that hunts his backyard and knows exactly where the cats are and where they go and can help their dogs out.
I know there are dirt dog that can't catch crap in the snow and snow dogs that can't catch crap in the dirt. Coastal dogs that can't do it in the desert and desert dogs that cant get it done in the coast, eastern dogs that can't do it in the West and Western dogs that can't get it done in the East. Impress me with a dog that gets it done anywhere, anytime in any condition. That is a dog or a dog man that I want to see.
Doesn' t matter to me weather they make your list or not, just thought I would throw it out to you since you were asking for names and those are a couple that I know of. If they are not worthy of your list, don't put them on it, you wont hurt my feelings a bit. :D

Thanks AZDOGMAN for listing two of the best friends I have had in the hound world. This is the first time that I have posted on the forum. But I couldnt resist when I saw the names of Tim Diehl and Joe Mitchell. The three of us graduated from highschool together in 1978 from Cortez highschool in Phoenix. Tim and Joe had already been bitten by the hound bug a few years earlier. And I got my start hunting with them in 78. Joe and Tim both catch their share of lions and dont look for any reconition.
One name I didnt see on the list is Sams dad Scott. Scott has been one of the top dirt lion hunters in Arizona for a good 25 years now. But I have to agree with Mike Leonard when he says that Warner Glenn is hard to beat.

Realdog - Why don't you post your real name and location? Perhaps your qualifications as well.

Just to get it out there.

Otherwise it seems that your whole goal with this thread is a trolling excercise. You have come on anonymously and made demands, demands that will identify other people in a public forum. These folks may not appreciate this discussion.

It's kinda rude.

So's the innuendo.
