Travis , want to apalogize for how that sounded "Travis you might want to pull foot out" I did not mean it in the way it came across and I am sorry
I do not know Of Cisco but am sure he was is a greatone .
I know much about ole Demoss ( and his thievery and lies )and Frank Methven and I knw DeeMoss was a dog thief but look at most of the houndsmen greats they stole from where it counts the most thier own Families ( basically walked out on them )
Ryan do you want to say you have never had a dog trash ?
I do not believe he had the greatest dog shoot he did not breed for the type of dog I like but the question asked about some of the greatest bearmen. And no matter our personel feelings on Dee he was a bearman. tha like saying your Vinnie dog is a pile becouse someone does not like you or says you are a lier .( NO ONE IS CLAIMING THAT JUST USING IT AS A POINT ) Dee allways had a lot of dogs and a lot of young dogs at that he hunted dogs for many people so trash running would be expected in that type of situation would it not.

dee took about 8 of gordon larson's plotts over to japan, and sold every one of them before he left japan. all bear dogs.
ive heard alot of stories from gordon about dee.
he was a hard hunter, and really knew how to advertise himself. hell, they hunted together for many years.
i think gordon is one of the few that knows first hand what dee did. im sure alot of the old plott guys up here in washington know how he really was.
dee is gone now. he was a hard hunter- according to gordon

Travis Dee did have a lot of culls. as does anyone that has and goes through many hounds . He did have a lot of good to great dogs also. And like was said he screwed many people over .
How about Bob Marosok ( spelling ) have heard good things about him .

I never knowed Dee Demoss, everybody I hunted with said he was a hard hunter and killed alot of bear, but none of them would associate with him because he was a dog thief. I'd have to say 2 of the best were Jimmy Witson and Jerry Mcgraw.

One answer to the actual question still is Mr Sam Faulk of Coquile Oregon.

I would also have to say that Doc Smith who developed and hunted the Salmon River dogs of Idaho. He had a top pack of dogs and hunted hard.
