Nice job pete :D I had a decent day myself, bayed one up in a hole we had to yank dogs out of the hole. patty and gary got a hold of it and tryed to yank the bear out of the hole. i got everything on video and got to see the bear come barrelling out of the hole. My son jacob was right there when it came out.Jacob is only 9 this was his first bear bay. He has been talking about it all day :) Im trying to figure out how to upload videos from my computer when i get it figured out i will post a link. We ran the same bear again thinking it might tree this time no such luck they caught it again and bayed it,we had to walk in and get them off another bay. Dogs did a super job today they were really gritty but didnt get stove up to bad.

Today (sunday)we put a bear into some ledges dogs had it caught for at least an hour or two before we could get to them.It was the worse ledges i have been in all season it was a hairy situation today. We were happy to get the dogs down off of a rock face. We see bear for a split second stick his head out of the hole then went back in.If my dogs keep putting them into the ledges i might have to get rock climbing equipment. :)

If my dogs keep putting them into the ledges i might have to get rock climbing equipment.

told a guy once- we just have rolling hills in VT - farmland- if theres any rough country around the bear will show it to ya :)

we were treed in eden notch -- - i wasnt sure which side of highway they were on---till i saw them- :)

we treed one sunday - it bailed first tree before we got started in-

didnt go too far and treed again

talked gary into getting dogs off tree and id keep em quiet in truck- :) was a good plan-
only 2 dogs and he barely got them by collars and it bailed again

Good Grief

kinda quiet on this thread lately -- whats goin on- i havent had much to report -

last weekend-- bayed one up on friday -- was sort of an adventure- all spruce thicket-- got within a few feet several times - couldnt see a thing lol at one point bear stepped into moose trail ,about ten feet and kinda gave me the look- then went back to charging dogs like i wasnt there lol :D i had camera---, with no card in it lol  bear charged dogs over n over, making noise like a tv bear-- ripping at blowdowns - pounding his feet --realy put on a show- i think he was noisiest bear i ever heard -and biggest ive seen this year , would have given a lot for a video camera for a few minutes--

the rest of the time, i never SAW anything -just hear it -- it was that thick . gary came in another way and had about same deal - - 4-5 hours- bear didnt go a mile- we were finally able to catch 3 of them off one at a time - the other 3 quit all on their own - :)

saturday - small bear kept crossing highway , decided to catch them and find another - never found another track -

sunday - still running when we caught them but pretty much .just got outrun

gary and i treed two yesterday - first one -- was just a cluster at first :)

cold trailed way out -- all 6 dogs came back and crossed the road- - nothing other side- tried to catch them but they got back in woods before we could gather em -

went back --not quite the same route but almost , just coldtrailing - then treed . not much of a run if any

the story of the whole deal was----solid thicket /blowdown / bog -also rained - -- sorta nasty to retrieve dogs- two hours to go and get em out 1/4 mile - bear bailed rite top of dogs-just as we got them tied after treeing so easy-- i think maybe we woke it up

would u belive on the way home we SAW a bear- - :?:

that one could run--- lol , treed it after a fairly long race - gary went to get dogs off the tree while i was gathering up pups that didnt make it - rather be lucky then good anyday
:)
