Messed with one for about 25 mins. He rigged it and opened quite a bit on it but when he hit a road it took him 5 mins to find where it left. It then hit another road and things just went to shit. Ran another one for 1 hour and 14 mins. Great race and a nice locate tree job. But with the thickness of the trees I was not able to find the cat. In my heart I know it was there but that don't matter . So I'm still at 1 . He is pretty wore out I might just call it for his sake. Let u know tomorrow.

Thanks for the updates JC, that is an excellent example of how cat hunting can be in this area. I have always felt it took a good hound to keep pressure on some cats for an hour in this terrain. Too bad you could not see the cat, but, good sportsmanship, congrats. to you & sonny. Hunted with him when he was a yearling & he was treeing cats then. Al

the dog comes up treed three times, scores on one. that's pretty good dog work considering it was a down pour for the first 11 hours of the contest. jc has set a pretty brisk pace for this contest in my opinion. the rest of you boys can expect some lockdown tree jobs with no sightings in that tangled up mess of woods also. just my guess.

Nice video...Maybe I'm wrong but that sure looks like some great ground cover for scenting. One day I'm going to get out there and try it out for myself.
