John I agree with you on the Hounds shown with the Jag. They look as to be the old Running Walkers ..
But the pic with young Bill, Now that one looks to be pure French to me .. More Clues ... And it sure leads toward that Bill bred a Female "Lee Bros" . "Which we know he bought 2 of them" to that French Male..
Good Stuff !!
Greens' Hounds

John,
Thanks for the pics! Here are more clues to the Gascon Saintongeois blood in Bills' hounds.

Hey now that bottom pic is a new one to Me.. John do you have that in your collection ??
Now we need pics of just what the Lees were running at that time..
It seems that the Lees had alot of different looking a shape of Hounds at different time periods ..
But I think it was the Blues and Redtick that also started Bill Harshmans that consisted of mainly of "Green X Lee Crosses".
Around 1938-1942 I have 2 different articles that State that the Lee's tried to Maintain 1/3 Bloodhound to Texas/La. "French" Redticks/Blueticks
Now only gessing these would have been Crossed up "Foxhounds" X "Grand Blue Gascons"
So Maybe the perfect cross maybe Grand Blue De Gascon X Treeing Bloodhound X Grand Gascon-Saintongeois

I believe the two ticked up hounds in the upper of the two pics, are Lee bro.'s bred.

I see Ann of Fairlee and her littermate Fairlee Freckles on there. Ann was the mother of Smith's Blue Ann, who was purchased by H.O. Smith and was the one to really kick off the quality in the Sugar Creek line.
