Page 17 for the 2129% increase and page 18 for the 300% increase.
For the bears killed after threatening, I averaged before and after and compared the two averages. It's astonishing isn't it?

Direct from CHC:
SB 1221
SB 1221 will be heard in the Assembly Water, Parks, and Wildlife Committee on Tuesday, 26-JUN-12. We are unsure of the start time as of yet, but the controversial nature of the bill and the anticipated turnout of the public may motivate the Chair to schedule 1221 as the first item on the agenda. We’ll be sure to update everybody as more information becomes available. It is critical that we have as many people as possible attend the hearing; we need TWICE as many as the number that attended the Senate Natural Resources hearing. Please broadcast this information far and wide.

I don't mean any disrespect and i wish you guys the best in your battle in California and i have even contacted the WBHA to see about helping you guys out but if you are only expecting 120 people to attend something this important you guys are in trouble. i know it is hard to get a lot of people to attend these things but for what is on the line for you guys it sure doesn't seem like there is much participation. if this were going on in Wisconsin, they would need a place to comfortably seat 5,000 people. I wish you guys the best though in your battle.

One of the things about this bill is if it pass's the USDA is not exempt they will not be able to use dogs for deperdation and the way I understand it is that they do all the deperdation for the department of fish and game in California.

I just double checked the text of the bill and government agencies are exempt. Thats a point I've been trying to make in my calls and letters is that if this bill passes, more bears are going to get killed and left lay by govt. hunters on depredation permits than sportsmen would even have killed.

Yes just read the bill my self federal and state agencies are exempt that means USDA can run hounds as I read it, if I'm missing something let me know. That might save use in the long run if the feds were not exempt because the population would not be controllable at some point public opinion could shift in are favor but don't be fooled hsus is thinking of every thing. As I read the bill state and federal agencies are exempt.

I just want to add to this. If this bill passes any houndsmen using his dogs to help out on depredation hunts will be a coward and a traitor in my book. They should be shunned and treated like the POS's that they are. I also think any houndsmen who is helping out with lion dep hunts is dead wrong.

If you go on there you'll see they didn't care much for mine either, but I noticed that there were a few more like minded comments on there. HSUS is planning something at the capitol on tues. the 12th and I think a bunch of us should do a protest then, maybe make up a sign to carry on the steps telling our story and get a little press coverage for free. What do you think, anyone in for this? Mike
