Tight waist, tight feet, long straight legs, deep chest, Like a smaller greyhound. 50-60 lbs In my opinion a dog that runs with its head up can make up a bunch of ground on one that is kicking its ears. No matter how they run a good build will help. There are problems associated with dogs that are too big and those that are too small alike. A tall dog doesn't have to be heavy boned and a small dog can still be leggy by proportion.

Those hounds are beautifully proportioned. Well balanced. I dont know how they hunt, but going purely on looks , I'd have them on my pickup anyday. Well done on those hounds - magnificent !! Roy Sparks.

Hagerman,

28C.
The saying I am sure is founded on good report because is does get a lot hotter here, with varied humidity depending on location and proximity to the ocean it can get quite uncomfortable.
28C is about maximum for the hounds, and that is in dry conditions. Humid conditions the max temp is less.

I like them built like the one under the tree, lol. I have a buddy that has bluetick that is about as opposite as can be from all your descriptions(small short legged, short bodied) but nobody told him that and when you get to a tree he's under it. I'd take a box full of those. My best dog on the other hand is pretty much as most of you are describing.
