In those pic's of the news paper, it said it was a bruin I thought there was a size differents between a black bear and bruin.I thought the bruins were in the grizzly and kodiac class as far as size goes.Maybe I have been watching to much nat geo!!!!regardless I dout that bears claws would support his fat ass going up a tree

That is how you do it right there, put the head of the bear on a spare tire all the way out on the end of the tailgate. Then sit 8' behind it in the bed of the truck. That bears head looks as big as a beach ball. Then hang it up and stand a few feet behind it.
If the other bear was posed like that it would look just as impressive. I'll stick with my original opinion, it isn't the size of the animal that makes it look big in a picture, it is how it is posed.

Boy ain't that the truth. I figure I can usually get within 200lbs on either side though.

My closest guess this year came when I put in a dollar on the weight from a picture somebody sent me on my phone. Still didn't win though.
I've seen MANY bear that were way up in a pine tree come out and guys were suprised when they hit the ground. Both ways I might add. But as long as the guy who pulled the trigger is happy, that's all that really matters. It's not like we are finding a shortage of bear this year, just not a boatload of magnums. I'd much rather have some guy who is pumped to whack a 175lb boar than some D-bag who is pissed his bear weighed 275lb and didn't get over 3. Besides if somebody gets a pissy attitude, they can go someplace else. It won't hurt my feelings, I'm out there to hunt my dogs.

Ok so if those are 10 foot side walls that bear looks like he might be 5 ft from nose to tail. Just saying!
