You could try that but I know it will not work. Can you even hunt pigs at night here. I'm not sure if its a law or one of the 10,000 left up to the wardens discretion BS deals we have here. I have been told by a few that once hunting is closed and you are training you can not have any weapon capable of killing with you. I do remember reading something along them lines at one time but dont know where off the top of my head. But I will look when I get some time and see if I can find that law.

Here you go Boss Hog just found it.

§265. Use of Dogs for Pursuit/Take of Mammals or for Dog Training.

(C) Prohibition on Possession of Equipment. No firearm, archery gear, crossbow or other instrument capable of killing, injuring or capturing any animal may be possessed by any person training dogs during the seasons described in subsection 265(b)(6)(F) below. Possession of a firearm, archery gear, crossbow or other instrument capable of killing or capturing any animal is prohibited while training dogs, but such equipment may be transported to or from a campsite, transported to or from a residence or lawfully possessed by a person at a campsite provided all dogs are secured and under the control of the owner, agent or person training or transporting said dogs.

And I think this one means you cant hunt pigs at night due to the fact that they are a game mammal.

§264.5. Use of Lights While Hunting--Remainder of State.

Lights may be used, in those portions of the state not listed in Section 264, to take furbearers and nongame mammals under the following conditions only:

Chris you are right, no pig hunting at night. If you are TRAINING on coon, fox, bobcat, etc, no gun. However if you are HUNTING coyotes at night with dogs you are allowed to have a gun. Just make sure though that you dont end up with an animal in a tree or you are in violation.

where did you get that from? i dont doubt you i just wanna know if its a fish and game code or state law

this is a bullshit law , anyone who has ever went to a tree at night knows you gotta be ready for anything , just because your "traning" dosnt mean you dont have the right to protect your self
In times of tyranny and injustice, when law opresses the people, the outlaw takes his place in history....

Most state laws dont have anything to do with fish and game codes or hunting laws. They let fish and game cover them in there codes and that sucks for us. I have many times called fish and game on codes that they have that are wrote so vague when your dones reading them you know less then before. They love to tell you one thing every time you call them on a law (we leave that up to the wardens discretion). When they tell you that it means they dont even know what the laws says or means or how to inforce it so they leave it up to the warden. Got to love this state of ours.
