sometimes culling a hound really is the kindest most humane thing a houndsman can do especially if it is mean . for instance i have a buddy that got a bluetic as a puppy that puppy showed overly possesive behavior right from the time he was weaned even though he was repromanded for his actions he continued to bite everybody and everything .getting lose and atacking good dogs in the neighborhood and only did more damage the bigger he got this being in a loving well pampered home .he bit everyone in the family and finally my buddy give up on him and gave him to another guy who wanted to try him despite the warning .he went on to bite everyone in that family until the guy finally shot him .if he had been culled like he should of it would have saved alot of pain .finding a quality home for hounds that do make good pets more power to you ,but quality in my eyes isnt a dog that sits out back ,and even though fed and watered lives its whole life there never getting off the chain .ive seen people do this all the time since i was a boy .culling can be kinder in my opinion.
