Yeah, the one on the dirt I was just letting him out of the box to go to the bathroom when he hit that track and trailed it up and caught it all by himself. The one in the snow he was to the tree long before the walker. That walker is really just a pup and was just starting to put things together this season. That Jagd caught several lions where he was the first to the tree by 20 minutes or more this last season.

He trails really well and seems to be getting better every season. I know good hounds are better but that Jagd is better than a lot of hounds at trailing locating and treeing

That's a really impressive terrier then. I wouldn't have expected him to cold trail at all. I did hear about someone having one that rigged bear though. The few I have been around were tough dogs.

Here is a pic of a lion he caught for my dad. He was to the tree 20 min before the other dogs. They all made a loss in an area and he figured it out first and treed this tom.

I see that your jagds have longer legs then most or just skinny, does your jagd stay on track? or does he it ahead of himself sometimes?

I just reread this post, I may sound a little skitso, or at least I did to myself. When I talk about Raven I'm refering to feral cats. When I refer to Payton, it oculd be either. The two were brother and sister. Both could run a fox all night long and with a few exceptions, niether could catch one. Now, that being said, people hunt bobcats for different reasons and while I hunt them for the work with the dogs some hunt them for the numbers of pelts and the money that comes with it. If your into jagds and want to put them to the test, bobcats are a major challenge of the first order and there are jagds that are up to the task. The best jagds I've seen are truely incredable and the drive we all like to see is the norm with this breed. I've owned around 30 or so jagds and like every breed, if you have a good idea of where to get them, you can have success.

The very first track and tree dogs I had were the two dogs mentioned above and I didn't know they couldn't do all of these things when I got them. That may have had something to do with it.

What a great breed of dog!

am considering looking for one. I have a great affection for terriers and would love to just run some bobcats. I have had hounds for twenty years and have had acouple pretty good bobcat dogs, however the wolves have broken me from wanting a cold nosed dog that can get out from under you too fast. I have cold trailed bobcats great distances, but i have also found a lot of really fresh tracks lately that I would not mind waliking behind a single dog on. I will have to see.

I've got jagds from Germany, but you can find jagds locally.
Look at JagdTerrier Hunters Forum for local dogs.

I've got some decent Jagds and will probably be having some pups in the near future. Also got a litter of some cross bred Jagds coming in 60 some days. They should be pretty gamey dogs.
