So Bill we can do just what Oregon did back when they lost there hound hunting and just jump right in with the Dept of Fish and Wildlife/USDA and do all there depredation an now they have enough houndsmen lining up they don't need the houndsmen to manage there #'s and I would think that the cattlemen would be smart enough to realize that if the F&W/USDA can't take care of the depredation they would be the first to jump in with us to get the hound hunting back (and they did stand with us in our fight a the capital of SB1221), if we don't create a NEED for us they won't have a need for us. We have seen what hasn't worked in the past in other states that have lost there hounds and being the nice guy's that step in and do the desperations thinking that they were doing a good thing just shot them in the foot. We aren't just going with the attitude of "screw the ag sector" because we lost our hounds, we are showing that we are needed and the state can't handle the bear/lion population without houndsmen.

Stay the course Dale....You are spot on the money! Time to post those names publically and expose the works for who and what they are!!!!!


The only reason we keep getting a crack at cougar hunting legislation is because the numbers keep rising and ODFW didn't have enough volunteers to do what needs to be done...At first ODFW thought no one like myself would make them accountable for the money and go after legislation to fund this out of control agency....It has taken several years for the numbers and situation to change enough to matter in our favor.....

Currently ODFW states a need to kill 2000 cougar state wide and the only reason we will have legislation in Salem this coming February, not to mention they too are a liberal agency and like all Government agencies is flat broke, if you watch the trend you will see a shift with the N.W. Timber producers once the freebie Government handout snare program is nixed, you will see those people trend back towards hounds. Why would they want hounds on their ownerships when you have the snare that works 24/7 and kills all targeted and non-targeted species funded on the backs of tax paying citizens?....You would be crazy to want hounds!

ODFW along with the Northwest timber producer has no use for hounds so long as management solutions are being met. Contractors are wiping out black bears with snares and keeping the numbers in check but that is not what is happening with cougar....Almost a blessing to have the wolf here in Oregon to help facilitate a need for management of out of control predators.

You guys are pipe dreaming to think anything other than flat out declaring war against these Government agencies is going to change things! What I have observed right here on BGH is the number of ignorant voters who keep voting our rights down the drain....It is one thing to lose any election when you are aligned in forces of like minded hound hunters, but when you read just how many stupid people are on the BGH board that think Democrats are our friends and love this party.....God help us all!

How many republicans are members of Peta or the HSUS? Here is a clue for you pinheaded Democrats.....None!!!!! Not one single activist are registered republican but just how many of you hound hunters are registered Democrat and vote that way? I suspect this has a greater impact why we are in trouble in our sport....Here is another hard fact....There is no cure for stupidity and you all who vote for a living instead of working at an honest job are the bigger problem! Working class folks like most on this board are now becoming the minority!

Something else to think about with the mid term elections quickly approaching us...Register to vote and educate yourself on who opposes you, your hounds and your second amendment rights

Our Governors appoint the Director position within our State Game Departments.

Governor Kitzhaber for those residing in Oregon that have no clue is a liberal Democrat who is anti Hound and anti second amendment...His appointment of ODFW Director Roy Elicher exemplifies his position on hunting....Roy is a non hunter who just a couple of years back posted a full page ad in the Oregon game regulations expressing his passion for deer hunting and how he never deer hunted ever before in his life? What anti hunters do is just like John Kerry did in a crowd filled with secret service, allow a 12 gauge shotgun to be passed along to him so he could hold it a declare his support for hunting and the second amendment, while doing so expressed his contempt for gun rights....Only a Kool-Aid consumer would buy his sales pitch for the second amendment! Roy's emphasis was placed on the whole camping experience and should be why we all hunt and not to harvest animals as a primary reason for being outdoors? Here in Oregon you can drive out to the outdoors and build a campfire any time you like! When I apply for Deer or Elk tags, my focus is on harvesting first and campfires when the hunt is complete in this order.

If you ever attended a meeting in Salem you would quickly realize about half the board of Commissioners are slanted where our sport hunting rights are concerned.

The only way out of this mess is to register to vote and turn out in larger numbers than those who oppose you...California and Washington are no different than Oregon, all three States are Democrat majority controlled.....It does little good however when you throw in with the enemy!
