But even after all this BS we cannot and will not stop it's not in us to give up! This is not going to heard until after the 1st of August so we have been told.

Thanks for the list Dale T. Like you said, everyone needs to man the phones. I think we're gonna kick butt at the next hearing, at least I think it's our best shot. How can they deny the loss of revenue? I don't know, it just gets frustrating when you go down to the capitol and you're dealing with people who can't or won't think for themselves, a bunch of dang puppets.
Now let's kick ass and we'll worry about the names later... mike

Make sure to tell them how much you spend on tags and licenses and dog license fees last time hsus told them we burdened the animal shelters I my self give animal control over 100 dollars a year and never had a dog in there, I know Im know where close to the most payed to animal control. There are all kinds of cost as we know. Government hounds man have ben hunting a lion that attached a man above nevada city a couple days ago what's the cost of too government hounds man ? dog feed vet. bills the list goes on just hammer them with numbers thats what they are there for supposedly. I talk to Nancy foley after the last railroad job on monday at the politicians capitol of sacramento not the peoples of california, I told her that I spend almost 1000 dollars on tags and licenses for my family of four in CA I did a run down of them, not to mention the extra bear tags I buy for family friends just to run my dog during deer season she seamed interested especially when I told her I held back this year to see how this played out and that fish and game needs to back use publicly then i put the hammer on her said i opted to buy a nevada non res lion tag and license for 250 combined and i could hunt my dogs there uninterrupted or not harassed by fish and game. 365 days a year $250 what a deal ,I don't know if I got any where with her but I did get her attention LIKE DALE SAID JUST CALL COPY THE LIST ABOVE AND HAND IT OUT TO FRIENDS ALL OVER THE STATE AND OUT OF STATE THIS IS ARE ONE BEST CHANCE AND ITS GETING DOWN TO THE END HAMMER DOWN WE CAN STOP THEM THANKS.

California Anti-Hound Hunting Bill Disregards Tradition
by Don Moyer on July 16, 2012
Share This:

Two days before our nation’s Independence Day, California’s Assembly committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife, voted to outlaw the traditional hunting of bears and bobcats with hounds. On July 2, 2012, eight Assembly Democrats voted to outlaw such hound hunting, while four Assembly Republicans voted against Senate Bill 1221. The bill has already passed the California Senate on a 22 to 15 vote and it is anticipated that Governor Jerry Brown will sign the bill if it passes a full vote of the Assembly.

Senate Bill 1221 is authored by Senator Ted Lieu of Torrance California, at the request of The Humane Society of the United States. Supporting groups include the ASPCA, Sierra Club, and numerous anti hunting groups. Opponents of the bill include: The Cattleman’s Association, The California Farm Bureau, Safari Club International, California Outdoor Heritage Alliance, California Houndsmen for Conservation, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation. In the days approaching the committee vote, Assembly members were swamped with calls and demonstrations on both sides. In the end however, it was a straight party line vote with Democrats voting to outlaw hunting bears and bobcats with hounds and with Republicans voting against the bill.

Assemblyman Bill Berryhill, who voted against the hound hunting ban, is also a farmer, a dog owner and lifelong hunter. He has vowed to use every parliamentary tool available to try and prevent the loss of such a valuable hunting tradition. Other Assembly members supporting hunter’s rights are Linda Halderman, Beth Gaines, and Brian Jones.

Hunting with hounds is a tradition older than the United States itself. A few years ago, my family and I visited our nation’s capital and then toured some of the historic places in the region. We were enthralled by the palatial homes of our country’s founders like George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Thomas Jefferson’s mansion, Monticello, and James Madison’s Montpellier. Interestingly, every one of these historic estates had kennels for the hounds owned by the founding fathers. To this day the region is known as “The Hunt Country” as a tribute to the tradition of hunting with hounds that continues there today. It is sad indeed that just before we were to celebrate our Independence Day, the California Water, Parks and Wildlife committee would vote to outlaw such an integral part of out heritage.

I began bear hunting as a teenager in the 1960s with a 7mm Mauser made in 1895 and I’m still hunting bear with it today. Because I didn’t have a hound to assist me, it took me over 10 years to finally bag a bear on our country’s bicentennial in 1976. Thirty years later, I watched my son get his first bear, because we were able to follow the cry of the hounds. I had high hopes that I would be able to watch my grandson get his first bear as well. I still hold onto hope that somehow, someway, the Legislature will not take this cherished tradition from us. I hope that some day my son will be able to watch his grandson carry on the tradition. I sincerely hope that our California legislators will show some respect for our centuries old American tradition.

Good article, but I also like to remind people that it is not 'hunting with hounds' as all parties like to say, it is actually hunting with 'dogs'.
From pariah dogs to hounds to weenie dogs and everything in between and on every corner of the globe.
Also like to remind them that hunting with dogs is WAY more than a centuries old 'sport' or 'tradition', in fact I find calling it either of those to almost be a disservice.
Hunting with dogs has been going on since time immemorial on every continent on which dogs and humankind were found, it is the very oldest relationship between an animal and a human and is still in a fully successful existence around the world.
People seem to get too hung up on this 'hound hunting' thing...give them a real dose of history, not just American history from the Anglo stand point.
Most native tribes in north and south america kept and used dogs for hunting - they did not keep wolves like those fancy 'Leanin' Tree' post cards might lead you to believe.

This article came out today!!!

Humane Society has houndsmen by the throats with the video they have. When taking video and pics you got to be very careful where post for everything on the world wide web is their for everyone to see. Be careful of who you let take pics and who you take with you!!! The video they have is bad for all houndsmen in the USA!!!

Utah houndsmen take note to whats happening, first it was England that lost their fox hounds, now one of the biggest states in our union can no longer persue biggame with hounds and I know they will go after the coon hunters next.

******Some one needs to get ahold of the bear hound association in Wisconsen to see how they faught their battle, because the attack on houndsmen and American Tradition and Herritage is in trouble out west!!!

*************Theres a study done here in Utah several years ago that proved bears and lions were not stressed during any of the chase while using hounds.****************

There are many of us that try and try to get people to stop posting stupid shows, videos and photos...on here and elsewhere.
It's too bad we usually just get ignored and people are just going to keep doing what they do...what was that about the horse and the water  ?

COHA FIELD WIRE

Bill to Ban Bear and Bobcat Hunting with Dogs Heads to Appropriations Committee
SB 1221, legislation authored by Senator Ted Lieu (D/28-Torrance) that would outlaw the use of dogs for hunting bears and bobcats in California, passed out of the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee on Monday, July 2nd, after failing to pass the same committee a week earlier. Although the hearing was "vote-only" with no testimony being allowed, roughly 200 showed up to voice their opposition in a rally outside the Capitol and by "quietly" lining the halls leading to the hearing room holding signs and wearing buttons.
The bill must now be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee, which will focus on the measure's direct financial impact to the state - including the expected loss of nearly $400,000 in annual revenue to the Department of Fish and Game resulting from the drop in hunting license and bear tag sales. With the Legislature on recess until August 6th, the Assembly Appropriations Committee hearing will occur on August 8th or 15th.
TO DEFEAT THIS BILL IN THE ASSEMBLY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE, COHA NEEDS YOUR HELP NOW! PLEASE CONTACT MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE TODAY ASKING THEM TO VOTE "NO" ON SB 1221.

The Humane Society of the United States, an organization that does next to nothing for animal shelters but sues, badgers and lobbies politicians and businesses into adopting its radical animals rights agenda, is getting a taste of its own medicine.

In a little-reported ruling by a judge in the District of Columbia earlier this month, the HSUS is going to court to face charges under RICO statues on racketeering, obstruction of justice, malicious prosecution and other charges for a lawsuit it brought and lost against Ringling Brothers Circus' parent company Feld Entertainment, Inc.

After winning the case alleging mistreatment of elephants in its circuses brought by Friends of Animals (later merged into HSUS), the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI), lawyers at Feld filed a countersuit with a litany of charges ranging from bribery to money laundering to racketeering. The attorneys for the animal rights groups asked the judge to dismiss all charges, but most remained because the evidence was overwhelming. So in early August, HSUS will be facing the music in a case that should attract the attention of hunters, ranchers, farmers and anyone impacted by HSUS' radical animal rights agenda.

District judge Emmet G. Sullivan did dismiss allegations of mail and wire fraud, but he did so only because Feld didn't have standing to file this charge. His ruling all but set the stage for a class-action
Advertisement
RICO lawsuit against HSUS for misrepresenting itself in its fundraising campaigns across the nation. This lawsuit easily could bankrupt HSUS, put it out of business and send some of its top executives to prison.

For the first time, a group has fought back against the animal rights and environmental extremists who have been setting policy in this country for the past 20 years or more. Now, instead of getting rich off their lawsuits and fundraising schemes that misrepresent their efforts and accomplishments, they could be driven out of business. These groups have cost the farming and ranching industry jobs and raised the price of products we buy every day. They are behind the efforts to ban sport hunting across the nation. They have forced state wildlife and fishery agencies to waste countless millions of dollars on lawsuits and have spearheaded policies and legislation like the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA), which has ruined livelihoods in recreational and commercial fishing without helping marine resources.

These groups operate with surly arrogance and believe they are above the law. Thankfully, that is not the case. Stay tuned.

What if as the IRS and other agency Hsus was just another extinction of government if you thank about it if the government kills animals with hounds or as santa rosa island hire people to kill animals you don't here a peep out of them its just public hunting, they seem to never get involved when california hires state and federal trappers to slaughter wild pigs . I no there not native and for the most part not wanted in ca but as hsus states they are equal to humans, a living animal , just trying to figure out what's going on in the U.S. starting with the state of california. I do know for a fact they have a unfair advantage from me personally being at the capitol multiple times. jennifer farring has a unfair advantage she comes and goes like a elected official thats not what we pay as tax payers to keep that place open for it may be getting time to shut them down just a thought see every one on the 8th
