Ya I'm about an hour west of him if he's in Kanab. I have only talked to him once on the phone a long time ago. sounds like a great guy. As for you, our season is still open and I have a tag. you would be welcome to come join in any time. I probably won't pull the trigger unless it's a booner, but we'll probably get some sweet pics.

I've been talking to a fellar that goes by festus on here. he like alot of these neat older fellars, knows alot about the old southern blood. his uncle was one of the main producers of this highly sought after blood and he can tell you what hounder had what dog and when. alot like mike leonard can. I am just coming to find through him that one side of my breed is heavilly bred with this southern blood. There is sure alot of heritage in these hounds and I'm proud to be carrying on the blood for these oldtimers who worked so hard to get it where it is today!!!!

Oh yea! to have coffee with all those greats would be a real treat. I used to visit with thad every day, but now that he retired I hardly ever see him. He actually gave me all his dogs when he got out of it, but they just didn't work out so I gave them back. now that I'm chasin the bears I wish I had them all back especially that 100 lb black plot. He did have one old b&t that he would never part with. I think it was because he was too mean. thad had him on a chain and next to his dog house was a bag of dog food and a big stick. I think he had to beat his way in to feed him. I have hunted with those Hutchings alot and it sounds like me and festus are going coon hunting this month. so I guess even though having coffee with them is out of the question, I've got to see em all one on one. only one left to meet is old Ike.
