Brent,
Is there a good book or video on trapping wolves you would recommend? I know nothing about it and wouldn't know where to start but I will sure as heck take some time to learn.

Yes...
Google Paul Trepus , he has a very good one that gives a lot of good ideas and info on trapping and snaring.
He may have two out by now.
I am going to put a wolf trapping seminar together for this spring if I can swing it.
I will need to contact Dan Lay who is likely the most efficient and successful wolf trapper on the continent and see if he's interested in doing one.
Will keep everyone posted here on what we can arrange.

I just spoke with Dan Lay.
He has agreed to put on a wolf trapping seminar sometime in the next month to six weeks.
Dan and his son Kyle do this on a very limited basis so were lucky he has agreed to help us.
They are Government hunters and trappers in BC as well as a hounds man and have likely taken more wolves between the two of them than all of us put together ever will.
He wants guys that are going to be serious about taking back what he has taught us and applying it in the field.
It's not going to be a cheap course which will be 2 full days covering trapping only.
It will be here in Alberta and I will arrange to get a motel at a reduced rate to help cut cost for you guys.
I will post more as soon as Den calls me back and start getting feed back from those of you who will be able to make it.
As I mentioned earlier, Dan and his son Kyle are very likely the most efficient wolf trappers there are today.
