Bear in AZ

Well fortunately I have a good brother because while I am away out of state he is taking my dogs out. On opening day of the general bear season, 10-02-09, he turned my young pack of dogs loose and went for a hike. My oldest dog, who is 2 and has been on some bears before, struck a track within a 100 yards of the truck. He went straight down and around this little knob. Next thing my brother knows he is starring right at this bear only 30 yards away. Well by this time that 2 year old is running right up to the bear. The bear stands up on it's hind legs to let that dog have it when my two youngsters, 15 months and 10 months join in from behind and the 3 of them roll that bear down the hill. With in about 5 minutes that bear was treed. It was a perfect tree too since the bear didn't go real high and the young dogs could see it. Couldn't have asked for a better trip for my brother.
Funny thing is I have been hunting this canyon for over a year now and it always ends with the dogs fighting a bear several times and chasin it for 8+ miles from one canyon to the next. It figures since I wasn't there it was one of those easy 20 minute hunts. lol
