hounds will smell anything and everything and track it if interested. are they more into birds than critters? what do they do when they are on them birds? Terry

This is not a pure hound so might not answer your question.

I have a hound mix 1/2 Walker hound 1/2 lab and he will flush quail while we are out but I don't hunt quail so don't encourage it nor do I discaurage it because its fun seeing those birds explode out of the bushes. He will point for a few secounds too, so it might have been possible to train him for birds instead of trailing and treeing.
