This is my first bear we took it in Lowell Vermont with our plott hounds. We started it in a cornfield and ended up treeing within 20 or so mins. But it took us almost 2 hours to reach the tree up on the mountain. We got to the tree and saw the bear and the dogs and as soon as the bear saw us it started climbing down the tree and jumped tree with all 3 plott dogs on it's ass. We sat there looked at all the branches that were chewed of at the bottom of the tree. Looks like the dogs really wanted some teeth in that bear. And all the time we were sittin there it was snowing and hailing and raining it sucked. After the bear jumped tree we heard the dogs not even 10 mins after treeing again. We walked some more and got to the second tree and there was the bear again. We at least got to get under the tree for a little while when it started coming down again. There were two shooters under the tree at the time and they were all yelling at us to shoot it so i aimed right at the bear as it was climbing down and shot. The other person that was there to shoot aimed at it went to shoot it but had forgotten the safety on  so i ended up tagging it. Then we had about another 2 hour hike out and ended up on the valley rd all the way in the opposite direction. It weighed in at 134 dressed but in all not bad for a first bear.

thanks it was a female unfortunatly. I hunt with Lincoln Chambers and them seen you around before. 2 of them is pocohontas plotts and the 3rd one is their daughter who is turning out to be a great bear dog.

nice job....

been running up there in Vermont all season, and all the bears I find have their Nike's on. I can not catch a bear to save myself. There like energizer bunnies.

Have seen a few crossing the roads but just can get them up. I think its from all the apples there eating. There all on sugar rushes. The corn down were I am is all cut and there is no Beach nuts to be found.

once again great job!
