It sounds like you have been dealt a bum deal there hound man, and all in a very short period of time. I have no experience with your first situation so I won't touch that one, but I know that a good hound is hard to replace. Chin up and know that you've about had your share of bad luck and things can (should) only get better!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. The wife will be easy to replace, a good pack of hounds is gonna be a little harder.

kind of sounds like my last two weeks, someone poisoned some of my pups two days ago, I got h1n1, pnemonia, and was diagnosed with diabetes all in one day. Keep pushing forward it will get better....or so I am told.

What does she expect when you live in a place called Bear Lake? Must be a couple bears around, how can you not run em?

Still laughing about the country song remark! If us houndhunters were songwriters we would all be rich and famous!

On a more serious note, if it were me and things cant be fixed. Forget that mother, spend some time with your kids, and buy yourself some well bred bear pups. They will love you fore life and have a way of healing your heart.

I second that. Those hounds have a way of cementing relationships with kids, too.

You wouldn't be human if you didn't miss them.
Make sure you have a good lawyer, preferably female. [You want to demonstrate that you don't have a problem with women in general, just your ex] You should demand visitation, even custody if you can handle it, right away. If you were the stay-at-home dad, you may even be entitled to child support if you get custody.
Also, make sure you keep a record of your efforts to keep in touch with the girls and their daily routine, even if your wife isn't letting you talk to them. Even things like requesting pictures and asking about their schoolwork will be in your favor when a judge makes the decision.
And don't leave your keys in your truck!
