Im not going to brag up some great hunting story, because ther isnt one. I harvested a huge bear at my neighbors house after it broke in the week before. All the same it is the biggest bear Ive ever seen let alone harvested. He weighed 505Ibs ungutted I dont yet have the skull size, but the taxidermist thinks it will book. I got him sunday morning (Colorado hunters dont freak out I had a Plains Bear Tag so my season was still open) We cant use hounds or bait so this is what were left with. I would have prefered to get him in a more sporting way, but nonthe less hell eat well. I rendered 6 gallons of lard if that says how fat he was. I hope the pics work out.

I butched the big bear and two antalope the last two days so Im shure ther was a lot of sent in the air. Tonight Ill see if I can get some pics if it comes around with enough light to see.

The taxidermist boiled dried and measured the skull, while unofficial he thinks it is 20 1/2 inchs.

Thanks, the second picture really shows his size better. The plains tag is an extra long season and is unlimited. The season runs from sept. to the middle of november for most units east of I-25. There is a few units near the New Mexico border that dont fallunder this tag but other than that it gives you a large area.
