well we started off on a record pace putting up several nice bears... Now we havent put up a bear in the past two weekends. We just rig bobcats

, could be worse i guess. Atleast it gives me confidence in my rig dogs

Well it sounds like those hounds are tuned up and doing great...stay after those bears and let us know how the rest of the season goes.

Yep it's slowing down. The weather changing I think has a lot to do with it.
We struck 5 bear in 4 days of hunting. Took two days off, it froze and rained, then went back and got not a single bark for 2 days. Not even on a big ole ruttin' buck. I started thinking the same thing, "dang, I'd be happy if they would strike ANYTHING, at least they'd get excersize"
This weekend was slow. Boxed almost 3 hours. We were about 5 seconds away from putting them away and going home, we were almost to the highway, when they blew up.
I think the animals are like us. They just wanna sleep thru the bad weather and move around later in the day.

Yep the pack is pretty well lined out DI with the exception of one of the young dogs, she is better on cats than bear. when we rig a hot bear she runs around like a chicken with her head cut off, just better on cold tracks i guess
you're right about that RC... the more wether we get the worse the bear huntin gets. We have been skunked in three outings in a row now(when it comes to bears), dont get me wrong though i cant complain about running bobcats but its bitter sweet when you have a buddy with a bear tag in his pocket
maybe at the end of season i will post the seasons photos...
