Hey all,

I have been skulking around this forum for awhile now and thought it was time to take the time to join.

I live in NE Washington on a 350 acre ranch, and have mules, horses and hounds. (As well as my daughters sled dogs) We used to raise Scottish highland cattle as well, and I plan on re entering that market soon once I get some bills paid.

I have been packing into the wilderness since my late teens and enjoy every minute of it. I generally go with my hunting partner Rob who has been there every step of the way. And trying to get the wife more interested in going as well.

Have a big hunt planned for next year, going to pack into the Frank Church River of No Return wilderness and run bear as soon as break up comes.

Thanks for having me,

Wade

I've got a pair of litter mates, one male and one female, that are out of a black and tan and a red tick.

And I've got one female that is out of a black and tan and red bone.

Nothing fancy.

My buddies wife drew a cougar tag for Stevens and Pend Oreille counties this year. So we will be hunting here on the 19th.

There are two routes I can take.

A) I can have them flown into a backcountry airstrip.

B) I can build some panniers to haul them in.

Depending on the number of dogs I can rustle up by June, will dictate which strategy I employ........ And cost is a factor as well.

Have you ever been in the Frank before? Where abouts are you planning to go? Sounds like a die hard adventure! Tell us more how you will go about it, camping, baiting, etc.....

I've been in the Frank many of times. But always deer and elk hunting. My signature picture is a view of the middle fork of the Salmon river and the big horn crags.

And will do, I want to pack a video camera in there.
