Probably better to do it on his own

let him go by himself or you will never know if he is fallowing other dogs or actually doing it for himself. I have seen dogs that would run a track like the wind when they were packed up but when they got out on thier own they didnt have a clue because all that time they were fallowing along. Just my two cents

kick him over the hill, a lot of the time it is one dog doing most of the work anyhow. " the scenery never changes unless you are the lead dog"

Houndcrazy, tell us about your dog. Looks like he has some flagging on his tail. That is a good sign. If he makes a top bobcat dog, he will not be the first one to have a flag tail. Do you know how he is bred.?

By all means get that boy on some bobcats.

There is an awful lot I have not seen. There is a lot more that I have not seen than what I have seen. One of the things I have not seen is a well balanced dog that was never hunted alone. I feel it is absolutely vital to the development of a dogs' self confidence. It is vital also to his perception of your confidence in him, and your dependance on his performance. It is also vital to your understanding of the dog's strengths and weaknesses. You will need to know this so that if you do add another dog to your pack, you will choose a dog to compliment his weaknesses. I am sure he has them, now it is your job to find them.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

I truely believe that if this dog has it and you walk him around enough and stay with him that you will catch cats. I did it with two dogs on coyotes and then whyen one of them got kilt, I caught yotes with the only one left. Of course I had to walk into the bays and shoot the yote but I still got it done.
