so what do you guys think about this cat, shooter? I didn't kill this one, but I think i probably should of. Tell me what you think. The thing was we turned out on a small track, then after about 2 hours my dog went over the mountain, then on my gps it looked like he was just screwing around, so we went to get him and half way up the mountain the garmin said he was treed. then we found this guy in a tree. and the snow conditions on that side were crap so i couldn't even find a track.

Good cat but there's bigger out there. You made the right choice, I would have turned him loose too. Now you can look forward to catchn him again

He is a nice cat but really unless your crazy about the meat how many cats does a guy need to take, how many mounts are in peoples houses? I think alot of people kill so they can just show off that they couaght a cat, but when you think about it the picture you took does the same thing and you let him grow up to be a true trophy for yourself or who ever puts him up in the future. You made the right choice, one alot of others would not have, and you proved two important things, your dogs catch game and your a sportsman. JMO

Ive never treed or shot one so thats why I would take him, he would be a good first cat for anybody, in my opinion. Now after I put a few up....well thats hard to say, probably could find bigger

Buck, I think you have the right idea.

I just wouldn't shoot it unless it was a BIG one.

I'd have let loose. Not really any reason for a "first cat". ya really only need one on the wall and there's bigger out there for sure. But somebody outfitting or guiding would probably want a client to take this one. It just looks like an "almost mature tom" to me his head and front end isn't filled out yet like a really nice tom you'd really want.

How are you guys judging this off of pictire? What about the dogs, they do all that work for you and not get to chew on anything.Man sure hope there wasn't any yung dogs there cuz if mine were, man i guess i would say close your eyes and plug your ears.
When it comes to yung dogs nothing lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
