Colorado cougar huntin'

Might be planning a trip up to CO for a few weeks and I know nothing about the laws reguarding cougar or bear hunting up there.

Don't know for sure but I don't think the state allows hound hunting? I'm also thinkin' lions are protected as they are by the tree huggers in Calif...

Any info helps...I don't wanna wind up in the cooler..

thanks folks,

Pretty sure they allow cougar hunting, not sure on the regs though. Think Colorado is more a mans man state, could be wrong though, could be illegal there.

Hounds are legal for lions, but not for bear. The season on lions is now open until the end of March. Tags are over the counter but you have to check to make sure the quota in the area you want to hunt hasn't closed before you hunt there. Go to the Division of Wildlife website for all the info you need.

Where are you going in Colorado? If you just want to run some you can come tag along with me? You can even stay here at the house. You can kill all of them that we tree ,with a camera

Much obliged gents for the great info. It's the Yoder and Eastern Plains areas. I'm guessin' lots of cattle in those areas but don't know if that means lion and such?

talk soon, Robb

No lions in that country. Rolling plains with few trees. You'll have to go west to the front range country to get into lion habitat. Of course, that puts you into the Colorado Springs metro area... Highly populated. Might be some coon or bobcat hunting possiblities along the creek bottoms on the plains.
