I heard that if your female got unintentionally bred, you could give her a vinegar douche. Has anybody heard of this or even done this?

I had heard that you could do a mixture of something like one part white vinegar and three or four parts water? What could it hurt? Isn't that what is normally used? Vinegar is a natural antiseptic. I thought that it was on this forum that I had read about it. A guy did it when it happened to his female and he said that she didn't get pregnant.

You saw it on this forum before the buckshot blowup. I think you'd be better served taking the dog to the vet and getting the shot.

Vinegar will neutralize the sperm, not sure the effect if the sperm has already hit the egg. Vinegar deuches are sold at walmart for humans. It shouldn't cause any long term damage but I still wouldn't try this.

Your chances of getting vinagar thru the cervex is nearly imposible, it might destroy the sperm in the vagina , but like nmplott said the ones that got thru it is a done deal.
They say there is a shot out there but any respectalbe Vet will tellyou not to give it, it does more damage to the female than it is worth.
Best thing to do is let her go full term and destroy the pups as soon as they are born or have the female spayed before she is to far along

Thanks for the input. Was just wondering about it. I had heard about it and wondered if it worked or not. I don't know if I would ever do the shot because all I have heard is that it is not good for the dog. Have any of you taken away pups after they are born? How does the mother handle it?

let them go full term and then give them away. If its her first litter it might not be bad to see what kind of maternal instincts she really has. The shot can have life long effects similar to that of the birth control shot women get....some women stay infertile for months after the shot was supposed to wear off.
