Western Kansas
good snow.
Dogs treed 3 cats in one tree this morning.
They let one cat down for the dogs to get fired up on & fight.
One cat slipped out when the fight was on.
The other one stayed in tree, so they got him running again, but let him live to run another day.
This is real cat hunting.

Way to go Hip,did they tree them all at once,or round them up one at a time and put them up the same tree.LOL
I found a track this morning of a sow and two kittens, and later a single track.Decided the crust would be too hard on the dogs,so I didn't turn out.

Before I had dogs we have some rocky coulees and canyons and my buddy was driving while we were deer hunting and 3 adults ran across the road in front of us straight up some shale rock, just a little snow on the ground, treed one but it jumped and followed the other tracks to make sure there was 3. Kind of crazy, wish I would of had dogs then, saw a decent lion track that day too. Not suprised it was 3 adults! Good work!

Hipshooter,
Great news on the tree. Out at Hooties the Hounds have treed and Dad says it looked like Black Birds in the Cottonwood. There were 3 adults and 6 Kittens of two different sizes.
Give us a report on the Hounds? This sounds like the Kansas Cats had better learn some new tricks!
Mailing out the other KS Chip with a Card tomorrow, Call when you are feeling good and not listening to a Good Race!
Happy New Year!

John,
One of the black females is really doing good
We have 3 litter mates that are 2 1/2 years old
The one we call Ace has started the last 4 or 5 cats & really been smoken.
She has a very good nose. & they tree pretty good.
This snow in the open country makes the cats eisier to run.
A hunter from Cody Wy is here for a few days he has 3 cross bread dogs
Will give report on their activity.
They are hunting at this minute.

The Wy guy is the grand son of a very well known old time mt hunter
I will get his name later
He has snow dogs , tree dogs & catches cats I will get the breed.later.
One of his dogs is a great locater in very big trees he says.
Only got the NC hounds on one good race ,, 4 hr race,, had about 12 dogs & could not pull the mouths out very good, but they all run good.
