Had Another Good Day!

Well left at about 4 this morning. My Dad wanted to go out and see how this hound hunting thing works so of course I was going to take him. Its always good to spend time with the parents, especially out in the woods! So we left and we took a few roads in different place couldnt find anything but coyote and deer tracks. We took a road that we thought might at least have some bobcats but damn there were more deer tracks then a guy could know what to do with. Well finally we find a bob kitty track with a little snow in it from that night. We start to follow it and find were it had made a kill. There were tracks all over and they finally started to sort it out but needed a little help (this was my main dogs 2nd bobcat, and the other hasnt been on many either). So they finally get it sorted out and start to take it pretty good. I throw my 10 month old pup in there and he does alright but it was his first bobcat. The race went quite a ways with them moving it pretty good, it was a pretty old track but eventually they got stumped, not sure what happened, there was no catch. So we finally find all 3 of them and load up, go get some lunch and gas and are on our way again. We decide to go to a place that holds quite a few cats. We get there and we dont find anything till we almost did our entire loop and come across a cat track that was about 5-7 hours old maybe, it was hard to tell, could of been fresher but Im not too good on judging a lot of tracks, just knew it was a little old. So we start working the dogs on it the cat keeps going in and out of aspen patches that are pretty thick and we finally find the out track and put the dogs on it. Well when they finally get it going my main female starts to take the track up the ridge through some North Korean jungle crap and is working it like she has done it for awhile! She worked it for about a mile and a half or more and eventually finally lost it somewhere. I followed her through all that jungle crap and made sure that she wasnt trashing out and she stuck with that hard track and did an awesome job! I got some good footage of her working the track and got to witness a lot of the race, never had to help her out. She probably would of finished it if she was there to have a little help since it was only her 3rd cat but it was getting close to dark and I needed to get back to the truck and get a light because it was getting dark fast. Never knew what exactly went wrong but she did a good job and I was proud since she did it all on her own. MIght not be the best dog but working an semi older track she didnt do too bad. Thanks for reading, sorry its so long just had a good day with my ol man and got to witness some good dog work. Thought I would share!

Yeah it was really nice to get out with him. He likes going outdoors (Forester), but doesnt get to do it as much as he use to at all. Told him I would take him a lot more if he wants to go. He's getting a little older but still keeps up at his own pace, haha.

Well here is a quick video of the day. Chased 2 cats that day, got bored and just put the clips together. Nothing special and no catch, just trying out the new camera, got to learn the focus on it better. Not sure what happened. This was my females (the darker dog) 2nd and 3rd bobcats. The 2nd one in the video she is working on her own. You'll have to listen to my gay commentary but at least its something to watch to pass the time. Suppose to snow tomorrow so hopefully Ill find a track:

Would that happen to be a 2006-10 Tacoma your driving? If I have a 06 four door and mine has a very similar crack across the windshield. Father in law also has an 06 that has a crack in the same place. I think theres a problem with the factor windshields because i have seen numerous with that crack. Anyways cool footage.

www.allprooffroad.com, basically can find anything for your pickup there. I actually got mine used and for less. Think I paid $650 for the bumper and rock sliders. Wish I would of welded on the rock sliders earlier since this last trip out I was going around a huge tank trap/over it and slide down and crunch it below my door. Kind of made my door hard to open. Its not too noticeable but they would of prevented it. Just need a little touch up paint and have to deal with the crunch mark thats there now, but nothing that I cant deal with.

Yeah I had to get some pliers and bend the metal back down so my door didnt sound like it was air tight when I opened it. Just need that touch up paint and to weld those on. Probably do it next spring and just be careful the rest of this winter.
