Why did the dogo topic in big game get deleted?

the last i saw was rifleman,s post & to that point NO ONE had violated any of the rules in the forum Rules of Conduct.
at the time i last read it.
No one was using abusive or foul language
No one was making personal attacks
No one was advocating illegal activities
No one was posting pics of anything illegal (at least not where the pics were taken)

the most offensive thing i saw posted was the expressed fear of offending petaphiles. I've said it on many forums before (& maybe here too) but the ABSOLUTE WORST thing you can do is empower those A-holes by hiding what you do. open & frank discussion allows us to show what is true & common among dog hunters. being up front, unapologetic & in your face is how previously socially unacceptable activities have become acceptable & mainstream. being fearful of open discussion makes it look as though the petaphiles are right in calling what we do immoral. criminals like the mafia & pedophiles hide what they do because it is immoral & it is offensive.

i get the most flak about hunting w/ my dog from deer shooters & other sportsmen. when confronted w/ the biological soundness of my preferred methods and the benefits it provides to both dogs & wildlife, most "animal lovers" i've discussed the subject with, who oppose hunting as sport, support dog hunting over any other. when i explain the value of training pens (especially for hogs) and how they are normally operated, the same anti hunting animal lovers agree that preparing the dogs for the dangers of hunting before actually facing the dangers and thus INCREASING their safety is the right thing to do. OTH the most venomous insults i've ever heard during a discussion on the subject have been from other dog hunters who have actually said it's better to have a few more dogs get killed than to start them in a pen because "the Antis will use it against us." i got news for all of y'all, THEY DON"T CARE WHAT YOU DO. if you don't do anything, THEY WILL MAKE STUFF UP ANYWAY. it's how they got dogfighting banned. the truth wasn't shocking enough so, THEY MADE UP A TON OF LIES. the media ate it up because it sold papers, magazines & got tv & radio ratings. it was a cash cow for the media. and the funny part is people who should know better (like guys who post on this site) took the media's word as gospel.

i am just too damn old to worry about who gets offended by what i do or say, especially if they are gunning for me whether i say anything offending their sensibilities or not. censoring the frank discussion of LEGAL activities is not just unamerican, it's cowardly, weak & should offend anyone who even remotely has any sense of manhood.
rant over.

Well you have some very good points, but hey it not yours or mine or most of all of us typing on here's forum. So if it it deemed inappropriate than live with it or start your own forum. I think this is a great place to learn and share information and stories and I can see why that particular post was deleted, I am truly not tring to offend you but my opinion is let it be.

Of course.

But it would have been nice if I had gotten an explanation as to why my thread was being deleted.

It's common courtesy, and it also leaves unclear what the forum rules are.

My thread wasn't about hunting wolves with dogs.

My thread was about hunting cougar and bear in wolf country with a more resistant dog to wolf attack.

I would bet the reason is the pic of the dogo with the lion. Anti's probably have it saved to favorites! No such thing as "Free Speach" in the US anymore...among all the other things that have been ruined. So we have to be careful as the anti's are watching this forum everyday. After all, it is an open public forum.

I don't allow photo's of caged animals and training photos on this site. It's in the rules.. If it's not clearly in the rules there is a CYA rule.

No hard feelings, As far as sharing Photo's on this website This is a Hunting website, Not a training website. Any photos that can be considered illegal and used against our sport will get removed. I understand that the photos were from a different country, but the Anti's sure don't care where the video is from when they run it in a political ad. and it takes a ton of money to try and tell people the "true" story behind the photo and video.

Unfortunately (And I do appoligize about this) I don't have the time to weed through and Clean up posts most of the time, which you are right would be more courtious. Most of the time I'm just directed by a Member to check something out. So it's just easier for me to Axe the Post and let you start a new one. I didn't have time to read the post, Personally I Still haven't had time to get back and read it. I was planning on doing that and sending you a note, i just haven't caught up from my hunting trip..

Plenty of peoples Advertisments, Photos of Caged coons and other photo's that should not be taken, get removed and I just don't have the time to address each and every one personally.

Again, this is Especially true when it's Hunting season for me, I do seam to get a bit shorter on responses, time and my Personality does suck a little more this time of year as I'm more focoused on the next time I get behind the dogs than dealing with this site... :D

I've owned a website/forum with 2500 members..........I understand COMPLETELY. It's a helluva lot of work, with very little thanks.

So "THANKS".

And might I add, looking at giving out more moderatorships to long, good standing and active forum members? It will alleviate a lot of your work load on here, and they won't have any access to the admin panel that could screw up the site......

Just a thought.

Thread is back up!

(Let's refrain from talking about how the Dogo is trained in other countries.)

Thanks Buddy!
