I am looking at getting a good camera to take along to try and gat some of the high quality pics I keep seeing. I am wondering what you are using, and what not to use? Looking for a good quality tough camera that a working man can afford or at least save for. Brand, model, and price if you don't mind would be great thanks Lance.

Nikons are a good bet. Such as the D90, D200 just depends how much you wanna spend. You will be looking at around 1000 though but picture quality is the best.

I got a Sony a230:

The good part is that it can use old auto-focus lenses from Minolta film type cameras (like a Minolta 5000 camera). I had about $1000 worth of old lenses I figured were useless, but the Sony works with all of them. If you can find them on Craig's List or eBay, or at a pawn shop you can have an assortment of nice lenses for your new camera real cheap.
I used that camera and my old lenses to take these:

I am real happy with my panasonic Lumix
The FZ35
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0907/09072704panafz38.asphas an 18x zoom,
a Lieca lens and is fairly light and compact to carry. The full sized cameras with interchangeable lenses are just a little much for me to pack and the sub compacts take pictures of near equal quality.
