anyone ever heard of or seen this?
i have two males..they're half decent rabbit dogs now FC bred top and bottom
seems like these days they show more interset in house cats than they do rabbit
i've been seriously considering droppin them on a bobber track and seein what they do.
these boys tree the neighbors cats in the yard all the time and they deffinatly have the tree part in em
heres a video of em this mornin..
i was on the couch and they were in the kennel, startin goin off like somethin was there that shouldnt be..i looked but didnt see nothin so i turned em out..they ran behind the pool and out came this fella with both my hounds in hot pursuit..this cat ran up the wall adn they got to treein him..after about 15 mintues i got the camera and tooka quick video to show a buddy of mine..they were under this cat for about an hour before i went out and pushed him into the other yard lol

Great clip, those dogs are telling it. I did not know beagles would tree. that is cool.

The old northern style of fox hunting was one man with a slow dog that would not frighten the fox really, but just keep it moving from each of it's hiding spots. This way the hunter could get a shot at it. Hunting bobcats like this is considered evil in some areas, but in other areas it is how most bobcats are killed. It is just an interesting cultural difference really. But I sure think those beagles would trail a bobcat like nobodies business and could keep him moving for you. After all, bobcats are just re-cycled rabbits  I wouldnt be surprised if they even smell of rabbit.

TELL ME HOW IT WORKS OUT, I HONESTLY HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT GETTING ONE TO ADD IN THERE, FIGURE THEY WOULD FIND ONE IF YOU MADE A LOSS AND THE OTHER DOGS HUNG UP ON A TREE, IT'S SEEMS LIKE I HEARD OF A GUY IN TEXAS USING THEM, IF ANY ONE KNOWS MR. CLAY WILL. HE IS LIKE A LIVING CAT HUNTER ROLODEX. I HAD A BLUETICK BEAGLE ONCE THAT COULD CATCH A RABBIT ON THE GROUND, WISH I HAD HIM NOW, I WOULD TAKE HIM ALONG

waylon,
my gunner dog, the open marked one, has caught a few rabbits on the ground in his 4 years..he's lighting quick when he needs/wants to be
i've always wanted a blueticked beagle i think they look real cool, cant find any out west though
