Hey everybody, since im out west in southern colorado now i was wondering about getting some good hunting boots. I want to get some that are warm and lightweight. I'd be willing to spend up to 300 dollars. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend trying either Kenetrex boots which are made in montana or try the danner boots that are made in the USA!

I would recommend Kenetrex. They aren't cheap but probably the best made boot I've seen. They are also having a special right now. Buy a pair of boots and they will give you a pair of thier gators. (which are very nice also). They do give guides a discount if you have a guide license somewhere.

I have hunted the mountains of Virginia for more that 14 years.
The only boot that I have found that will hold up to real hunting terrain is the Cabela's
Alaskan Hunter.
I walk an average of about 150 miles a year in these mountains and they usually last about five years.
No roads where I go.
:D

I think the more expensive lines of danners are still made in Oregon but the cheaper models are built across seas. At least that was the case a few years ago. To me they are extremely comfortable right out of the box but they don't last real long under heavy use.

Try the Meindl boots they have impressed me alot. I am pretty hard on boots and they seem to hold up well and are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. The Hikers and Hunters have a cork bedding in the arch, very comfortable. Cabelas sells them.

Sorry for this bad info on the kenetrek boots as for the danners they make boots overseas and in oregan still. The boots made in oregan are more exspensive usually than the ones made overseas. Once again sorry for the bad info about kenetrek boots.

what kind of hunting are you going to be doing is the big question, flat land for whitetails or sheep hunting in the mountains?
